What is the EITC?
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), sometimes called the Earned Income Credit (EIC), is a refundable federal income tax credit for low-income working individuals and families. The maximum income threshold for qualification to receive the EITC is soon to announced by the IRS.
To qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit you must:
* Be a U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien
* Have earned some income in 2010, full or part time

What is a VITA site?
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites, were created by the IRS to offer low-to-moderate income families free tax preparation services. The IRS partners with community organizations such as the Laredo Family Economic Success Coalition to operate community tax centers during tax season.
